Prima CARE (www.prima-care.com) is a multi-specialty medical center in Southeast Massachusetts and Rhode Island with +180 medical providers and over 850 employees.

When in 2015, the previous answering services supplier notified Prima CARE management that they wouldn’t be able to cooperate anymore, the company had to look for a new provider. Thanks to the broad customization capabilities and a reliable engineering team, TDA were able to meet all requests of the Client. These included implementing tailored after-hours voicemail options and providing Prima CARE with the ability to update coverage schedules in real time, a feature they previously lacked. What's more, the Client was assigned a dedicated, professional account manager, who has been assisting them since day one to ensure impeccable service.

Integration with existing systems

Prima CARE wanted to keep the existing secure messaging system, as it was already used by a majority of their +180 medical services providers. To accommodate this demand, The Doctors Answer engineers developed a custom API and seamlessly integrated the messaging app in place with their systems to enable a smooth user experience.

Access to encrypted web portal

The Customer had struggled with the prior answering services vendor who didn’t always make it easy for them to update coverage schedules. With TDA, Prima CARE has direct access to a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted web portal, which provides them with the option to bring current on-call schedules up to date on demand.

In 1991, the Prima CARE, P.C. founders formed a partnership called the Southeast Medical Services Group with 13 physicians. As the Group continued to evolve, it changed its name and incorporated in 1996 with 23 co-founders. Since that time, Prima CARE has continued to grow, with 180+ providers, and facilities in Fall River, Somerset, Westport, Dartmouth, and Tiverton.

The facilities provide a full range of medical services including primary care physicians and specialists as well as full diagnostic services, including MRI, CT scans, nuclear cardiac testing, ultrasound, bone density testing and PFTs in our new 60,000 square foot medical facility in Fall River. The company also provides laboratory services at all locations as well as X-rays and a Sleep Disorders Center at our 18,000 square foot Somerset location.
